A one-of-a-kind Superfractor trading card from the 2021 Topps Chrome Star Wars Galaxy set has officially sold for $100,000, making it the most valuable Star Wars card ever sold.
The card, titled “Jedi a la Kurosawa” and illustrated by Randy Martinez, was sold at The National Sports Collectors Convention at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois. The sale took place between Dappz Sports and Diamond Card Collector, two prominent figures in the U.S. collectibles scene.
This Superfractor is a one-of-one, the only known copy in existence, and features stunning artwork of seven Jedi from across the saga: Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Aayla Secura, Shaak Ti, Mace Windu, and Kit Fisto.
“We love hearing about news like this. Big moments like the Superfractor sale remind us that collecting is alive and thriving—not just in digital, not just in physical, but across the board. It’s a powerful sign that fandoms still matter, and that the culture around collecting is stronger than ever.”

This isn’t just a rare pull. It’s a premium collectible from one of the most visually iconic non-sport card sets ever released.
Originally sold for $16,000 in 2021, the card’s $100K sale reflects a 525% increase in value over four years. This leap in valuation underscores the growing cultural weight and investment potential of rare Star Wars collectibles.
The Topps Chrome Galaxy series stands out for its artistic approach to Star Wars lore, and this particular card has long been viewed as one of its crown jewels.
For collectors in every galaxy, this moment proves what many already believe—nostalgia and storytelling still drive collecting culture. Whether it’s a card, a comic, or a digital drop, the love of pop culture runs deep.
On VeVe, the same momentum is alive and well. Our Star Wars digital collectibles, from Darth Vader’s animated debut to AR-ready lightsabers, continue to connect collectors to the characters and moments they love most.
This headline sale offers powerful validation for both physical and digital formats. The reasons collectors chase grails are universal: scarcity, emotion, and timeless IP.
“This kind of sale is a clear signal to the world—pop culture collecting isn’t going anywhere. It reminds us how deeply nostalgia still resonates and how much collectors value these cultural touchpoints. At VeVe, we see this passion every day, and we’re honored to be part of a movement that keeps fandom alive in new and meaningful ways.”

This isn’t only about achieving the title of most valuable Star Wars card. It’s about where the hobby is going.
A card that once sold for $16K now holds six-figure status. That shift didn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of growing recognition that non-sport and pop culture collectibles have staying power.
The value isn’t just monetary. It’s emotional. It’s generational. It’s cultural.
The $100K Jedi a la Kurosawa Superfractor now holds the record as the most valuable Star Wars card on the planet. But its story represents much more than a transaction.
It highlights a collector-first movement that spans both physical and digital worlds, where fandom drives value and rarity becomes a modern-day myth.
And if you’re building your own collection on VeVe, whether through epic showrooms or limited-run grails, know this—you’re already part of that future.
