Once Upon a Mouse…in the Future — Lonesome Ghosts in the Machine

This July, celebrate Friendship Day with Lonesome Ghosts in the Machine, starring lifelong friends, Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck! This incredible graphic novel was written by Francesco Artibani and wonderfully drawn and colored by Giovanni Rigano. The story, set 100 years in the future, was inspired by the animated short Lonesome Ghosts, which premiered on December 24, 1937. In this first comic of the Once Upon a Mouse...in the Future series, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy band together to solve a ghostly mystery. Could Peg-Leg Pete be to blame?

In this cover, created for the comic story Lonesome Ghosts in the Machine, terrified ghost exterminators Mickey, Donald, and Goofy face their fears at the Ravenstone Manor. Their agency, Ajax Ghost Exterminators, rid future Duckburg of spooky specters.

This image, published in 2014, was drawn by Alessandro Perina and colored by Valeria Turati. Best friends Mickey, Goofy, and Donald burst into the room, ready for fun and adventure!

Ghosts Cover - Ultra Rare
This illustration harkens back to Mickey and the Ghostchasers, a comic story published for the first time in 2010. Here Mickey, Donald and Goofy step bravely into a haunted house, flashlights at the ready. The Lonesome Ghosts try to startle them from every corner, but our intrepid investigators don’t scare that easily!

This image was pulled from the comic story Pippo e i bracciali di Maciste, published in Italy in 2022. Drawn by Corrado Mastantuono and colored by Andrea Cagol, this portrait perfectly depicts the camaraderie between best friends Mickey, Goofy, and Donald.
