Once Upon a Mouse…in the Future — Mickey Mouse Takes a Space Trip

This May, immerse yourself in a story that’s out of this world! “Mickey Mouse Takes a Space Trip” is one of eight graphic novels in the Once Upon a Mouse...in the Future series. The series features stories inspired by the classic Mickey Mouse shorts that have built the history of The Walt Disney Company since the debut of Steamboat Willie in 1928. In this brand-new original comic series, Mickey, Donald, and their friends relive similar adventures one hundred years in the future. Discover how the retelling of the 1940 short film Mr. Mouse Takes a Trip plays out in the future!

Main Cover
Each episode of this marvelous comic series features a different interpretative art style. The cover of this comic story was illustrated by Italian artist Giada Perissinotto and colored by Gloria Marino. Mickey and Pluto run from mischievous Peg-Leg Pete while the space-train races toward Jupiter.

Chase Cover Variant
Published for the first time in Italy in 2008, this illustration was created by Silvia Ziche as cover of Topolino magazine number 2762. Capturing the excitement of this story, the cover features Mickey and Peg-Leg Pete dangling over the skyline in an epic chase scene.

Hats Cover Variant
What to wear on a trip into space? Published in U.S. for the first time in 2015, this illustration created by Amy Mebberson celebrates some of the famous hats worn by Mickey in his most renowned stories. If you look closely, you’ll notice a hat similar to the one he wears in Mr. Mouse Takes a Trip, the original 1940 short film that inspired this comic.

Nemesis Cover Variant
This illustration by Italian Artist Silvia Ziche was first published in Italy in 2017 as cover of Topolino magazine number 3216. The cover captures the cantankerous relationship between Mickey and his enemy Peg-Leg Pete — a dynamic that also appears in “Mickey Mouse Takes a Space Trip”.

Collection Cover Variant
This cover was created for the entire 8-episode collection of the Once Upon a Mouse…in the Future series. Drawn and colored by Italian artist Mirka Andolfo, the illustration depicts Mickey, Donald, and their friends stepping into a wonderous future.
