Earth’s Mightiest Heroes assembled for the first time when the Asgardian trickster, Loki, manipulated the Hulk into a rampage to draw Thor out into battle. Thor, Hulk, Iron Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp united to battle Loki and, in the process, formed a new team of super-powered protectors who could defeat the toughest threats facing the planet. The Avengers were not limited to that initial lineup, with a membership system that opened the doors for heroes to join the team such as Captain America.
